A great way to start weaving is with a rigid heddle loom. Ashford and Schatch both have well featured rigid heddle looms. They're light weight and portable. I think a stand is well worth the purchase. If you don't want to pay full retail, eBay and Spinners and Weavers Housekeeping Pages are great resources for gently used items. Also, be sure to contact your local spinning and weaving guild. Often they have used equipment for sale. A tri-loom is another option. But, you are somewhat limited by the shape.

I really want to start weaving. Do you recommend a beginners loom for cheap? I have been researching and can't figure it out.
