Recent rescue, antique brass & iron yarn winder.  Very heavy.  No manufacture’s markings.  Here are “before” photos, needs some TLC & polishing.

    The instrument is called a wrap reel used to wind yarn in the determination of count -English cotton count is defined as the number of 840yds weighing one pound in weight -e.g. 30x 840 weighing one pound is classed as Ne 30 or 30´s cotton count.
