My first project. The yarn is of unknow composition; I think it may have some wool. I found the big cone secondhand locally for $5, so it was the perfect first project experiment. The width of the scarf is uneven, but that attirbutes to the weaver not the loom.

In future posts, I’ll demonstrate the simple set-up. In successive posts, I’ll demonstrate (I hope) the more complex “yardage” set-up.

Greetings! I ahve a loom that works on this same design, without the beam in the center (mine has 4 heddle sticks for string heddles) It is called the Guildcraft-Thackary Loom
My question ot you is, when warping the continous thread… the end connects to the beginning thread ~ like an inkle loom ~ right??
It is SO hard to do this without a manual!!

I’m not sure how the inkle loom works. After looping the first thread over the loom, tie it to itself and then go across the loom. After the last loop, tie it to itself. So the right is tied to the right edge and the left to the left edge. This way, when you shift the fabric from bottom up the back, the whole thing shifts together. Hope this helps.

I have at home this very loom, with instructions. I got it from an elderly couple in Caledon who were downsizing. If you need scanned copies of the instructions for 20 pattern options , let me know.
